My current work is acrylics on wood or aluminum panel. I utilize Adobe Photoshop to compose my paintings first then transfer the compositions to panel for hand painting with acrylics. Congratulations to Joey Melinda Morgan, one of the selected artists for the inaugural exhibition of the Flinn Foundation Art Program! The program is a complement to the Foundation's grantmaking focus and demonstrates the importance of the arts. Joey Melinda Morgan utilizes photography and professional digital skills to create a unique, artistic style to captivate viewers and spark curiosity with digital composite imagery. Each piece takes the viewer on an abstract visual journey full of texture and vibrant color. She was born, raised, and currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona. For as long as she can remember, Joey has used some sort of visual art as a form of self-expression. Textures found in nature, with the varied hues and random patterns created from patina finishes on copper, are inspirations. She has participated in juried exhibitions and arts festivals. Selling to both private and corporate collectors while maintaining limited gallery representation. As part of her fervent journey as an artist, Joey travels to places to capture textures found in nature to be used in future pieces. She will continue to expand her composite imagery style and techniques - the possibilities are endless!
