What is your link to arts and culture in Phoenix and why is it important?
As the leader of Visit Phoenix, I am dedicated to sharing the unique stories of our city to inspire travelers to come to our destination.
One of Greater Phoenix’s most compelling stories is our diverse arts and cultural scene. Travelers are drawn to our city to experience everything from local indigenous installations to innovative contemporary exhibits. Working alongside organizations like Artlink has helped promote these efforts to continue to grow and strengthen our creative community.
If someone you love is visiting, what arts and culture experience would you share with them here in Phoenix?
We are incredibly fortunate to have such a thriving art and cultural scene in Greater Phoenix, with many diverse options to choose from.
I always recommend friends and family visit the Desert Botanical Garden as it is a beautiful representation of our abundant Sonoran Desert. The Heard Museum, as well as the Phoenix Art Museum are also must-sees to get a perspective on the diverse history, culture, and creativity that makes our destination special.
With so many unique arts and cultural experiences woven throughout the destination, visitors can easily immerse themselves in the creativity of Greater Phoenix.
What do creative people, places, and ideas need to grow and thrive here in Phoenix?
The people of Phoenix are full of inspirational, artistic ideas but require support mechanisms to execute them. We strive to create an environment where these ideas flourish while also building the support systems that help them succeed.
All great cities need artists, cultural organizations, and innovative thinkers that help shape the character of a destination. It is our responsibility to keep finding new ways to elevate artists and cultural organizations, celebrate their contributions, and use them to continue the growth of arts in our city.
